LIAG-Seminar: Tectonic modelling of the western Tauern Window in 4-D

Abstract:

The western Tauern Window in the European Alps is a geological peculiarity and tectonically very complex. Its development during the formation of the Alps is not yet fully understood. In order to quantify the tectonic history as much as possible, we construct a 3-D structural model of the western Tauern Window, which we retrodeform kinematically in 4-D. We use all available data and maps, especially those obtained during the construction of the Brenner Base Tunnel.
